    Outrigger help

I have triple line outriggers, one long rigger one short rigger and one teaser/short short rigger. I want to install pullies on my outrigger poles so the lines run smooth and easy. I'm looking for tips on what pullies, how many and where to place them. Does anyone run a simular system that could give me some pointers?

    Thanks, Mike

I did this a couple of years ago to mine. I have double spreader riggers, and run a long, short and teaser halyard.

Originally there were just 3 eye bolts.

For the closest eye bolt, I replaced that with a Harken Micro triple block - that is where the teaser halyard terminates.

The middle eye bolt was replaced with a harken Micro double block - the short rigger terminates there.

The tip top eye bolt has a harken micro Single block

All 3 halyards go to a triple block at the boat.

To make it easy to differentiate between halyards, I use 3 different colors of 400Lb Mono - Black, Blue and red

As for attaching the blocks, Just take an eye bolt of the appropriate size, open the eye, slide the block in and close the eye back.

I don't have a picture, so here is a drawing...

    outriggers

clt_capt, That's how I have mine but my triple and double pullies are hanging wacky. I have my long rigger to the out side of both pullies short rigger in the middle and my teaser line in the inside. how do you have your line run through your pullies and how are your pullies attached to the poles?

    Thanks, Mike

    Mike,
The pulleys are attached using eye bolts - I replaced the original ones - just opened the eye with pliers, slid the loop of the pulley in, and closed the eye.

Mine hung a little funny at first, bur onec I had a little tension on the halyards, that went away.

If I remember correctly, the long halyard goes through the center of the triple and inside of the double pulley. The short halyard through the outside of the triple. The teaser is on the inside.

    Ed/clt_capt,

Thanks, for your help and pointers. I got mine rigged up today and everything is working nice and smooth. I can't wait to test them out.

Ed, see you down the Fishing Center Memorial Day weekend.

    Thanks again,
    Mike
