out board issues
i have twin yamaha 200 hpdi's on my center console. we run off without a problem troll all day, then on the trip home one engine kind of hesitates every once in a while. had the problem last year and it kind of went away. does anyone know what it might be? i would really appreciate your input

Banned Camp - I am on PROBATION!!
Water in the fuel maybe?!?! passing some sediment from your tank into you fuel system.. Change your filters or seperator and see what happens...
Might have also picked something up offshore and around the props that might have just slowed it temporarily until it cleared itself..
I am not a real good mechanic but that would be my guestimate..

Yep, your gonna need stitches
I had the exact same problem on both my 01 200 HPDI's 2 years ago. It turned out to be the VST filter clogged. the VST filter is in the aluminum tank on the port side of the motors. My mechanic showed me a quick cheap fix that worded great for me, drain the tank, pop off the main inlet fuel hose and fill it with engine cleaner, let it sit 15 minutes and fire it up...problem gone. I never had the filters replaced or cleaned this worked great for 2 years until I sold the boat(

VST Filters
JohnK...Just like to add as well I had a similiar problem. I also have 01 200Z HPDI. I love the engine up to this season..with no problems. At the beginning of this season, I noticed when ever I hit the throttle to get up on plane, hit boat wake, or pull a turn...the engine would immediately bog down, drop rpms, then return to the normal rpms. I asked all over about the problem and finally took everyones advice and changed the VST filter(def clogged), the gasket, and the other pump leading into the VST chamber for a total of 180 bucks. Its an easy change and can handle it yourself. Immediately after changing them out...I noticed the engine ran smoother than before and problem solved. Im waiting to see the effects if any on fuel economy. If You need the schematics to look at the change...I can easily email them to you. Hope this helps. Good Luck and take care.

The VST filters are in the Fuel pump, that is the "aluminum tank " refered to above
