I'll go out on limb and venture a guess that neither of you have any idea as to what all was involved in deciding on which events to attend on inaugural day.
Lets see, there were literally dozens of Balls---- all inviting the new President to attend. Obama attended 10 different Balls (a record)---- perhaps he was delayed in getting away from The Commander-in-Chief Ball (a Ball honoring all military personnel).

Flat, please tell us how Obama was to attend every Ball in Washington that night ?--- Should Obama have attended 2 military balls? If so, which of the 10 balls that he did attend should have been left out of his itinerary?

The Hitler comment was in response to Fred and Frank. Too tired to argue tonight but suffice it to say some here would be happy with a U.S. Military state---i.e., down right fascists--- (that's their right though).
Flat, I will agree (and pat my self on the back) that I am not consistently conservative or liberal. I do feel I am very consistant in my governmental philosophy however.
This nonsense over the ball thing is nothing short of ridiculous-- particularly when none of you have the foggiest notion of what all goes into trying not to insult or displease anyone in situations like this (no matter what side of the fence you are on)--- with the possible exception of Deep, of course. I do not know nor have I talked to anyone directly involved in the scheduling of the inaugural Balls, but I can asure you (and common sense will dictate) that snubbing any group or ignoring another was not the intention of anyone--- indeed, I'm sure much thought was given to attempts to round out the evening as much as possible.
Don't worry though, I am confident that Obama with provide many substantive bone head moves during the next 4 years to give pleanty things to ***** about.

Don't know which Frank you were referring to? Hey it's no secret that he's not who I voted for. I voted for the "other" guy, didn't see him as the "wonder" candidate either, just the lesser of 2 evil's. That was just my opinion and that's the way I voted. I'm willing and want to give Mr. Obama a chance here, really. I find myself going back to the realization that I'm not alway's right (I know that's hard for you to believe), and that over half of the country voted him into office. I'm just hoping that they saw something or know something that I missed. In my opinion his time would have been better spent with those under his "command" (he is Commander in Chief), than with the Hollywood elite. That's my point, take shot's if you must, but I'd be willing to bet the overwhelming majority (taxpayer's) in this Country would be with me one this one. By the way just what is a "MoonBat"???? Maybe he does not know what a commander in chief is supposed to do? Or maybe the sight of a man with his legs blown off turns his tummy? What ever his reason for not going ...he better buck it up. This ain't no after party for 4 years. He has already committed 17000 more soldiers to the hell hole Afghanistan. I just hope he gives our men and women what they need to fight the war he is escalating.

Glen,first off,Obama is the comander of this country.Got That?Now,there is one thing that ALL BROTHERS that served in the Armed Forces of this country do and that is pay the highest respect to any menber of the Armed Forces that has earn the Medal of Honor.Obama,just pissed down these peoples back!That my friend shows he is NOT a honable man and if you feel that someone that has served for this great country of ours should not be honor for service,then thank a serviceman/woman that gave you that right to do so!
