    OT - Musical Instrument Help

OK, Here is a weird request but I figure so many people read this site I may be able to get some help. My son has been playing the oboe for 2 years and loves it but now he asking for a bassoon for christmas. Hell, he may as well be asking me for a flyrod. I know zero about musical instruments and less then zero about bassoons. Any help on what and where to look would be appreciative. Any information about Bassoons would be helpful.

Try contacting your sons school or the place he gets lessons. They will probably be able to help. Not a common instrument . Good luck.

here is a link for all manufacturers of this instrument

he tells me, the instrument is of gemanic origin, most of the better makers are in austria and germany. Don't worry AMEX gives great exchanges rates.

i feel for ya guy, two years ago it was this special violin for my daughter, what the heck do i know about violins. Ask me for a Tiagra 80, there is something i can handle.

I'll bet you could make a hell of a spreader-bar with a bunch of piccolos , clarinets for flash and a big bassoon bringin' up the rear !
