what are your favorite design improvements in boats, engines, electronics from the 1980s till now. be it centre consoles, expresses convertibles or watever boat u fish

i believe the biggest improvement is the lighter more powerfulk deiesles thatare use in boats today. because of the better power to weight ratio more power could be put in the same sized modern boat as could have beeen done in that same boat 20 years ago

Chart plotters have been both a blessing and curse. They are a great tool to supplement traditional navigation methods and are very convenient but they can be a horrible enabler to those who skip learning conventional navigation with horrible results when they fail.

The cockpit mezzanine has enabled us to keep everyone out of the way and much more alert, and also added more storage to the cockpit area.

CAD designed hulls and jigs are allowing for much faster custom builds saving a lot of expense in materials and labor.

I don't even know where to begin with the advancment in the various marine power and electronics fields.
