    Wink One Ends... One Begins

The rolling tackle box took me to the boat for one last run this morn. I caught a couple fish and had a short trip of iit... I went down to the skid row of car dealers to my south and began the hunt. Ten lots and thousands of vehicles. All the ones I had seen in their ads though mysteriously vanished .
A few of the llots at that end of town wouldn't sell me a car for cash. I had to do their BS 1000% apr in house financing or they didn't want to play. These vanmpires prey on the poor. They have a car worth nothing. The down payment was what the car was worth but they would do payments by the week or worse the day... They thrive on repoing the car when someoone can't cut the payment and sell the car over and over.

The others had done that low ball bs advertising but the crap they were slinging were no bargains. I did a lot of shopping quick and got out of there...
On my way home I decided to hit the local Honda Dealer. I'm a Honda freak but they're so damn pricey I can't justify getting one for a very messy fishing car and rolling tackle box. Still I love em and had to check for one. I'm partial to the little CRV model but they sell for as much as a new one usually.

I got with the same salesman that I usually deal with. That saves the other guys on the lot from losing their "Up" to a waste of time. The typical array of ones sat out front with big numbers on them. My guy tried to show me a green one but that just isn't me... Then in their shop I saw the approved mechanical sticker going in on a new trade... Blue... She was an 00 with pretty heavy milage. She also had quite a few scratches and minor cosmetic boo boos...
I turned to my guy. "Whats the future of that one?"
"Detail, paint and body shop and may stay or get shipped north..."
"What kind of ACV you got on it?"
ACV is actual cash value... Something that the dealers actually value it as. They might show $12,000 as trade but really only value it at $10,000.
"I dunno...Let me check." He knows that I'm familiar with the game from boat sales which is very similar.
He came back with a surprised look... and flashed me a hand signal that was not far from my budget. Then he pointed at the old girl and said, "I want it for a regular client's worker..." We bantered back and forth and we stole each others cars. I'm driving a crv and his client has a car for his ranch hand to work with...

I didn't tell em about how invoices are done in pencil...

    Flat
She holds the big cooler of death just fine... so it will be demanding to fill as the other was. Whats gonna be tough though is finding homes for all the shit I carried in the old one. Four trash bags big enough to choke off two 155 qt igloos came out. Actually a good thing. There was enough loose change around the place and under the cushions to put Mini through college. Then there was enough loose tackle to go a season down here and not need a thing. I even found my fur lined handcuffs!

Next year, if I can find some work I'd like to make it one trip up at shark time and back in October... Then a second trip for blamming time in December...
