    OLDER PENN Reels

Can anyone direct me to a site or can you give me some personal input on what older model PENN Reels are of better quality and worth more? I constantly run into them at estate auctions and such and never know which is better or how much money to bid for them...

Here's a 10.00 buy I got at the last estate sale I attended. I figured I couldn't turn it & a rod down for 10 bucks either way.

Also!, how do you get the gunk off of a reel when it looks like it's been sprayed with WD-40 a hundred years ago???

    Thanks!

    Edit!- Gotta resize that pic!

    Dawn fish!
I posted the same question on a couple other boards awhile ago and recieved NO replies, except for nice reel!
I picked up 4 of those same reels for $10 a piece at an estate auction this summer also. Seems about the going rate.
I used Goo gone and citrus cleaner to get rid of the old oil/grease.
If you find something post it up please.

reels there. as for the cleaning get some ROLLOFF at the marine store works
wonders soke it for a while then brush it hot water and wipe off with woody wax
great for rods too, and then repack w/grease just like new

    Thanks Capt. and Ravens 16...

Now, This may disqualify me from 'repack with grease' part but what kinda grease?

Here's what I'd guess would be a better quality one that I picked up for $12.50.

USE WOLFHEADS GREASE JUST A LITTLE DAB AROUND THE GEARS AND SHAFT
VERY EASY TO DO AND THATS A GREAT DEAL ON THE 750 SPINFISHER 12.50
