    Old Boat Financing

Can anyone give me some Advice on Funding an older hull boat?
And NO... Writting a Check for the Full Amount is NOT an Option, Taking out a 2nd on my Home is Not an Option, Nor do I wish to debate Financing vs. Cash. I like Other Peoples Money.

Boat is a 1973 Hull with a Hull up restoration in the late 90's.

Beautiful Boat but, Finance guy says the boat "Doesn't Book out" and the Book doesn't take into consideration the restoration.

    Any Advice?

    Thanx!

Your best bet is to contact lenders that deal exclusively with boats. These lenders have a better understanding of the marine market and should be more receptive to your inquiries.

Ryan I checked and according to the online literature it says you need a vessel to properly intal many types of fencing looks like Fence Patrol needs a capital asset investment to me.

    http://www.russofinancial.com/rf-newengland.htm

Ask for Maribeth or Arlene and use my name as a reference.
I'm not sure due to boats age but they will tell it straight up

    Good luck

    Amen Brother!

I know the financing rules change significantly on 20+ year old boats, I would try a different marine financing broker with a larger rolodex. If the boat is fiberglass, you'll find someone to give you financing with a good survey, but may need to stay below 80%. If it's wood, all bets are off.

I've used Coastal Finance in Virginia Beach. They are good with older boats and self employed buyers. There number is 491-6600. If they cannot help you being out if state, they may be able to refer you to a good marine financing agent in your area.

    Good luck.

    Good luck.

She's a Glass Boat on a Solid Hull. We plan on laying down 20-30% just to buy down the loan. If I didn't buy down the Blackfin 50% when I bought her - I'd still have her (which IMO isn't a Bad thing... She was a Good Boat).

I hope we can pull it off... We shall see.

I need FRANKY to call me now! FRANKY!!!!!!!!!!
