Just read a report by ALANTANI on a rebuild (straight from Okuma) of the new Okuma Makaira. He does a great job explaining and illustrating what goes on inside reels and how to care for them. I used his advice on 6 of the Titus Gold 50WII and pleased with the results. What is amazing is with his back ground and exposure to all the makes out there he gives the Okuma Makaira an A- and if Okuma would step up a few lube details on drag washers and bearings he said his first A or A+. Keep in mind that others that produce gold 50wides haven't been able to get over the B+. Anyone that does their own work should google or search the SFC for ALANTANI, not to many out there that share secrets of their trade... REEL MAITENANCE.
