Oil Question

I know when adding oil to a auto you can not mix standard and synthetic together, For an oil injection systemS for fuel does it matter? I had a full tank in my 1.8 container for my VRO system when I bought it and just got the warning horn that I'm at a quarter tank. I bought some 2 cycle oil but noticed that it said synthetic. Before I add it I just wanted to ask.

Is there a way to tell what is in my oil container? Not sure which oil the previous owner used?

How old is the motor and what did/do the manfactor recomend fot it? If it a
Yamaha, all there oil is the same for HPDI and the standard motors
Mercury, Opti Max is synthetic and the rest is not.
Fic is / was synthetic as well as the newer ones.

Knowing this I would say it is NOT synthetic and take it back and get good old Evenrude 2 cycle oil and go with it!
