Middle Finger My response to the CEO's

Complacency- A feeling of contentment, gratification,self-satisfaction, and SMUGNESS. How easy it is to be complacent when you are raking in billion of dollars of hard working American people's money. If the oil executives were true American's they would be fighting tooth and nail with the tree huggers and our useless gov. in Washington to get the refining capacities and exploration they need for Americans.

    just my thoughts

Flat thanks for putting this on here. Russell you kinda hit the nail on the head here...until we are allowed to open the country up here to explore for more oil and put up new refiners, we will not see a drop or a stabilization of oil prices. This now has go on so long without new oil wells or refiners in the states that if it started tomorrow, it would years to show a difference in prices at the pump. The conservationists, not necessarily a Democratic thing, needs to get a grip (or maybe a better way to put it is loosen their grip) if things are going to change here and as long as they have the grip on the economy that they have, it is not going to happen. We must open up oil production in our own country to get the dollar back to where it needs to be. What we need to do is go after the conservationists to make this happen...

I personally think its a rapeing by the oil companies allowed by the government. These prices are worldwide, not just in this country. I can't see it as a Democratic or Republican thing.

The only reason those tree huggers get anywhere with the government is because our government allows it. Why they allow it is so that the oil companies can have a finger to point at when people are pissed off. The oil companies run our government... at least for the last 8 years they and halleburton have and their profits prove it. The laws of supply and demand would state that for fuel prices to triple- as they almost have in George Bush's two terms as dictator- either demand would have to triple or supply would have to be reduced to a third of what it was. Neither have happened. When George Bush took office gasoline was $1.47 a gallon and crude was $32.00 a barrel. Now the national average is creeping onto $4 a gallon and $106 a barrel with prices projected to be well over $4 a gal at summer time. Two days ago the white house sent Dick Cheney to Saudi Arabia to negotiate with the sauds. Does they really think we are that stupid?
I am a republican and have always been one. I dont know who in the hell to vote for. It scares me to death to vote for Mccain just for the simple fact that he has talked about carrying on some of the policies of this current administration and we all see how well they have worked so far. I would have to say that Im just as scared of Mccain as I am Obama and Clinton. It puts me in a really wierd position. I'm tired of having to vote for the lessor of evils and wish like hell for once that someone would just come through that doesnt seem like they are out there to serve their own power hunger or agenda and out to do their job and serve the poeple.

Ron, it aint worldwide... at all. It all depends on the government that recieves the oil. I have been all over the world and can tell you that fuel prices vary alot. Example... When I was in Britain I believe fuel was almost 2 pounds a litre. Sounds like alot but people there dont drive and fuel taxes pay for their socialist government. Same with most of Europe. In the mid east fuel is 5 cent a gallon. You can actually buy gasoline for cheaper than water. In central america fuel is a bit pricier than here. It comes from the same tankers and the same oil pumps but somehow costs as much as twice as much as it dooes here in the states. In Venezuela, last time I was there, 9 cents a gallon. Do you know why fuel is cheaper in venezuela and the mideast? Its becasue they have state run oil production programs. Any other country that doesnt produce its own oil can be held hostage by the wealthiest companies in the world. Then in our case, we are stupid enough to elect an oil man into office and .... VIOLA! this is what we have. We have the potential to produce enough of our own oil that we would not be at the whim of opec. We dont. The reason we dont is the same reason that the government makes emission standards for cars that makes them significantly less fuel efficient. Cows alway have an probably always will produce more greenhouse gases (methane) than cars ever will. And on top of that there is no temperature data proving global warming. The numbers actually prove the opposite. The same reason they add ethanol to fuel that in scientific comparison has about the same emissions as gasoline but costs much more and doesnt at all relieve our dependence on foreign oil. In fact if we used every ear of corn grown in the united states to make ethanol, we would produce enough ethanol to cover roughly 11% of our need for fossil fuels. The same reason that even though exxon is profitting enough money that they have a larger economy than the country of iceland but at the same time our government is giving them tax breaks and even flat out giving them our tax money to "aid in research in finding an alternative fuel" to put them out of business. This isnt actually the part I find hard to believe. Both politicians and oil companies are crooks so its just natural that theyd be in bed together. Any time your money is involved and you dont have control over it your gonna get screwed. Thats the way it works. The part that I find hard to believe is that you make the points about the government and oil companies being in bed together and some people still will defend that its not the case. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but good God.... come on people. Get with it.

I doubt it's that easy to understand. By the time the oil companies factor in the cost of research and development of new wells I doubt the cost of fuel would go down.

Bottom line for me, We should be drilling and processing our own oil. If I have to pay $4 a gallon I'd rather keep it here than send my money to the middle east. We have the oil we just need to stop pssn around and go get it.

I dont really understand how the tree huggers can stop oil drilling in this country. Are they really that big a voting block ? Do caribou vote ?

No the tree huggers arent a voting block at all. Its doesnt matter though because they provide the excuses the oil companies need to have a reason to stop from producing our own oil and keep prices up and keep putting money into the pockets of oil companies, lobbyists, and politicians. It wouldnt suprise me at all if some of those tree hugging organizations were in some way funded by oil companies.
