    Middle Finger OIL ??

The price of oil is going to bring this economy to it's knee's . The Greed will not stop until the system is completely broken . I will never believe anything else . The marine industry which I think was starting to see some life will down again along with all the job's it brings to this economy. I am hearing people talk about 5.00 to 6.00 gas and diesel on the water I hope this is just talk but the greed will never surprise me .

It's not the price of oil that's the problem...

...it's our dependence on oil that's the problem. Moreover, that this is the source of regular shocks to our economy has been well-understood for many decades.

S*** or get off the pot, comes to mind.

How about make traders/speculators take possesion of what they buy i can imagine we wouldn't see the prices that are out there now. But that would make sense why would our gov't do something like that.

How about the environmentalist getting off their high horse and letting us have some more refinery's.

Here is a thought...we pump enough natrial gas each day from the Alaska oil fields back into the ground, to power cities. Here is a though, lets use that to run cars on...oh my, there are not enough refinery's to do that with...

I Think Some One Hit It Sqaure,

Make the trader's take possesion of the oil they buy. I sell part's to make a profit, just like any other business does. But before I can sell that part I must pay for it first. No smoke and mirror's, no imaginary stock room's either. I also can't see a problem where our Gov't state's a cap on prices of oil either. I know about supply and demand, but the greedy interest's of a few can and will cause extreme hardship on many. Just think about it, how many thing's out there that we use daily have an oil connection? Well everything. The beginning of our recession was blamed on alot of thing's, but if you'll look at the date's, it's exaxctly when oil went through the roof. Do we have too much dependence on oil? Yes. But until we can develop other technology's, it's what we have. One more point, if there are new technology's developed, they'll be developed right here in the good ol US of A. We'd be much better served to take a good potion of our "give away" money and spend it on long term project's such as this. Frank

    Lee,

If we can get our state legislators to allow horizontal/fractional drilling. There is enough natural gas under my county to supply NC for over 100 years from what I have been hearing.
