I’ve been following this thread for a few days now and I’ve refrained from saying anything until now because I wanted to see how it played out. I’m fairly new to this site and I usually just read other people’s posts but this time I felt compelled to chime in. First of all, you all sound like a bunch of freakin’ chicks squabbling over such inane BS. Do all of you have nothing better to do than piss and moan about this stuff?

Now, I understand that this is a forum to share info, experiences, etc. but to go back and forth, bash each other, and try to call someone’s bluff is just plain stupid and pathetic. Even the people who are saying that it went too far are STILL throwing jabs. Ilurk4info should have stopped after paragraph 5 in his last post. Everything he wrote afterwards totally negated those first few paragraphs.

Personally, what I’ve gathered from this thread is that someone has an axe to grind and thought they’d be able to make a stink and get some people’s attention by posting a [questionable] message on this site. Well, it worked. Are you happy?! Personally I think it’s pathetic and it will eventually bite THIS person in the a#% if they keep it up. Playing dirty will get you nowhere.

Plus, who the hell cares if someone gets some free sh#& or not. The entire world is driven by money, endorsements and back-scratching, so in most cases it’s wise to take things with a grain of salt. However, if OI says that they have a pro staff of 12 that buys their own products and tests them then you have to take their word for it unless you can prove otherwise. Why would they jeopardize their reputation by telling lies on such a high-traffic site as this one? And you know what….even if they did give their pro staff and other customers some freebies….isn’t that what marketing is all about? “Buy One Get One Free”, “50% Off” “Free Trial”. We’re hit with this stuff on a day-to-day basis and we don’t think twice about it. Turn on the TV – I guarantee that you’ll see at least one celebrity plugging some product. Ya think they get paid for their endorsement? Heck yeah! Either way, if OI’s products really sucked then I don’t think even a pro-staffer would waste their time using their products and risk their reputation – or their ability to catch some killer fish - whether the stuff was free or not. Think about it…

Listen, Sh%& happens. You know what – everything breaks at some point and there is always going to be a “bad batch” when you are mass-producing things. The most important thing is how you handle it. Good customer service is key and it sounds like OI has done nothing but practice good customer service. (it also sounds like they are working on correcting the issue at hand) There’s no need for them or their supporters to say anything more in this thread. So, for all of you petty bozos who just want to take sides and square off over this thing….get a life, get off the computer and go do something more productive than whine to each other on a message board! I’d much rather read about FISHING than this fluff….

Chum Grinder, well said and great first post! welcome to the site...I think you will fit right in...post up some reports and tell us something about your self... where do you fish out of and what do you fish for?
