so its back to work for him on Monday and will be interesting to see his ratings next week since he will be back in the public eye trying wrongly to persuade more politicians with his BS change

Yep, he's sure losing his base.

What he campaigned on is not what he's doing.

He's continuing the hated policies of Bush's bailouts and stimulus programs, he's still proceding with the war in Iraq (no troops have come home to my knowledge) and ramping up in Afghanistan, he's only recently warmed to the notion of the rule of law (think torture) and he's scheduling deficits that make even Bush II's wild-eyed spending seem tame.

He's losing his base and many independents. Me, I'm not going to vote for him next time around. He's much too much like what we just got rid of.

    I'm thinking Ron Paul.

SM, What's Disgusting About Keeping CIA Within the Law

In response to Atty Gen. Holder's preliminary investigation via Special Counsel into the tortures and murders committed by the CIA I often hear the following:

"Do you want the CIA operatives looking over their shoulder every time they do something or having to consult a lawyer to make sure the orders they got were legal."

My answer...HELL YES I want them bearing in mind their legal restrictions and HELL YES I want them acting strictly within the law and HELL YES I want them fearing legal sanction and personal accoutability for their misdeeds.

I want the same level of accountability and the access to legal sanctions for cops, the FBI, mayors, governors, presidents, members of congress, the dog catcher and you and me. Indeed, I demand it.

Without this the CIA would continue to be fucking President's private army and band of murders they've often been under presidents of all parties.

Some of you who so vociferously (senselessly?) fear Obama had best think about the fact that he has this bunch of killers at his disposal before you continue to advocate a hand's off attitude.

If Obama can't be trusted and Bush couldn't be trusted and Clinton couldn't be trusted and Reagan/Bush I (and so on) couldn't be trusted to act within the law what makes you think any of them can when handed such an anti-democratic weapon as their own private police, executioners, murders, killers and torturers.

I say get rid of the CIA completely or defang it completely. If you haven't noticed they've not exactly done a cracker-jack job of intelligence at any time in their history. We'd be better off just reading the international press than we would be depending on these loose cannon-like incompetents.

Prosecute them and then castrate or eliminate the agency. We'll be safer and more democratic.

Things need to be done everyso often, sometimes unimaginable things in order to keep this nation safe. The enitre population does not need to know about these things or thier practices becaue of the very thing that we are seeing now...public outcry and resent for the very people that have conspired the ruin this country you are standing in. why attempt to be civil with someone that in turn doesn't respect of even attempt to follow geneva convention. We interigate people then jail them ...or "detain" them then give them 3 square meals a day, dental, and medical care. Where our troops my brothers go over and if captured are tourchered using methods that pale in comparison to those used by the CIA but rather are right up there with the germans during their reign in the internment camps. What is to follow....death not by a fireing squad, lethal injection, or electric chair but a public and filmed brodcast for all to see by beheading. If you have ever seen a beheading it is not nice. Let the CIA do their job whatever it may be intel, counterintel, counter insurgent ops, or covert ops. They were put in place just as spec ops was to do things we weren't capable of doing, and for some not willing to do.

Longfisher what the CIA did was consulted and deemed legal by the Bush admin. Piglosi was there for the answer not a peep out of the *****. 3 people were water boarded. In all 3 cases attacks were prevented
Holder was/is a defense attorney for gitmo detainees Don't you think that he has a conflict of interest here. Maybe just a little ego problem as well?
The answer is yes we do need to follow the law In this case the law was consulted and followed. The problem is some don't like it TMFB.
