    Obama Hit's The Arab Airway's,

didn't take long. "We are not your enemie's". No kidd'in, the jerk's And all of their supporter's) that fly airplane's into our building's are the enemy. Some how that got lost in translation. Does kissing a group of people's backside's constitute diplomacy? Just thought I'd ask so I could settle in for the ride. Hail To The Chief. Frank,SeaPower

    this is bullshit,isn't it ???
    really not sure who's worse,this obama,or the last jack ass,george bush ???
you're forgetting one thing here frank, iraq had absolutley nothing to do with 9-11 and the flying of air planes into buildings.you can thank george bush for us heading into iraq.if the military was allowed to do what it's trained to do,that would be go after bin ladden,in afganistan, instead of invading iraq, the outcome would've been much different...
problem we've got here now is,we've got the second president with no balls, georeg bush being the first, this balless wonder,he was awol from the alabama air national guard, remember that ?? and obama, who never served in anything,by his actions,he clearly lacks a set of ball too...it's a friggin mess, and it's gonna get worse...just remember,10billion a month this is costing us ??? and obama was voted in by the people...seems to me,you should need a liscense to vote...

    Jimmy,

Can't say I agree with you about George W. But I can't say I agreed with everything he did either. I personally didn't disagree with going into Iraq. My opinion is we were going there now or later, because of Saddam. He was a long term threat that had to be dealt with. I'd rather have faced his army now instead of later. It was gonna happen, like it or not, the card's were in Saddam's hand. He forced the hand in my opinion. Like it or not George W. wasn't going to be "bluffed" by Hussien. I have a real problem with the intelligence or lack there of that had to do with the WMD's. I on the other hand believe in my "heart of heart's" that if Saddam had the chance to do us some serious damage down the road, he wouldn't have hesitated. I call that "intent", and that will get you killed.
You and I could and maybe will one day over a hot cup of coffee discuse how much you ADMIRE George W., remain's to be seen. Hope so.
I just can't get over what I read a little while ago on the net, about Mr. Obama's statement's. I'm not a real smart guy as anyone of you can attest to, but I really don't get this "Kumbia" stuff. I think a stiff deterent is much better and much more dependable than stroking some one's hand. I really don't know what else this Country can or has to do, for the rest of the world to give it a rest. Doggone funny to me, we are the wicked evil west, but let some diasaster (natural or man-made) come through and who's phone is the first to ring. And somebody please tell me when the last time that this Country refused to help anyone that needed or asked for help. I'm all ear's!!!!! Are we 100% right, no, but we ain't 100% wrong either. In this world of our's please for the love of all thing's sacred, tell me One country that has more compassion and is willing to stick their neck's out than the US???? No aurguement here, just I'm really getting fed up with it all. I think I'll go fishing, just because I'm an UGLY American. Frank,SeaPower

As always, I will provide the dissenting opinion. There are hundreds of millions of Arabs and a handful of them are radical extremists. Like there are billions of Christians and one Timothy Mcveigh. Painting them all with one brush accomplishes nothing.

The language of the Bush adminstration with absurb constructs like 'Islamofascist' does absolutely nothing other than rile up the base (thats you Ace). If we ever want to see the end of Muslim extremism we will need peace in the Middle East for starters. There are two ways to get there. Diplomacy (the course Obama is choosing) or apocolyptic (at least for some) war and genocide. I know many of you would vote for the latter, but I tend to lean towards the former.

Have any of you guys ever even considered that the people who are born into Arab countries are people too, just much less fortunate than us?

Remember in the olden days, countries went to war, and kept whatever they got, land, oil, gold, etc. Hell half of Europe belonged to the Romans. United States went to war with England, and son of a gun kept this country. Fast forward to WWII, we beat Japan and Germany, and didn't keep them, why not, why blow the places to kingdom come, and then give them back. Should be Japan, USA and Germany USA Then along came Korea, MacArthur wanted to finish that place off at the end of WWII. Then Bush went to War with Irag to free Kuwait, Schwartzkoff wanted to get Sadam then, no...imagine if we kept the places we went to war with, folks would see first hand how much better they are, much like current Iraq, but soon we will leave there again, just plain failed policy.....Time after time after time...

    Iguana1,

Gettin you to step up to the plate for Mr. Obama (right or wrong), is like tossing out a fresh piece of Albacore to a Bailer dolphin. Just wait, He's gonna bite!!! It's OK really, you're a thinking guy, we just don't think alike, that's cool. If the Arab's are the down trodden of the world like you are suggesting, why don't they make thing's better for THEMSELVE'S. They've got the world by the "jewel's" when it comes to oil, they have the potential with their income (from oil) with a product that has no end of consumer's. What's the problem, quit fighting among yourselve's long enough to make YOUR part of the world better. We've done well as a Nation because we worked, they have wealth because of where they live. Big difference in my eye's. Our ancestor's didn't come here because it was perfect, they came here because it was better than where they came from. There is no excuse to live a second class life, when you're sitting on that much wealth. Get off your dead behind and make it better for yourself. Any thought's? Frank,SeaPower

    Frank,

Obama makes mistakes too. I think Geithner is one of those. Rahm Emmanuel might be too.

On your question on why the Arab states are generally a mess: there is a lot you can read on this matter (try 'The Future of Freedom', Fareed Zakaria or 'Guns, Germs and Steel', Diamond). I subscribe to the basic premise of Zakaria that you can directly tie the economic progress of a country to first the establishment of individual freedoms and property right followed by democratic and capitalist principles. Democracy without basic indiviudal and property right doesn't work (Russia) while the converse (China) does. Countries that never establish the basic 'liberal' rights never go anywhere. The universal exception to this rule is oil rich states who seem to basically behave like trust fund babies. The premise here is that the easy money is so corrupting to a basic meritocracy. It is notable that oil-poor Arab states seem to do much better (think Dubai) than oil-rich states.

All that said, I am extremely lucky to live in a free country where these principles are so embedded and where we have the first mover advantage in applying them. If I were born in Zimbabwe I doubt things would be the same for me.

OK, I hear you and understand your point. My point is how is any of that OUR fault, what make's us the Evil Satan in their existence. If you gotta gripe about your social problem's, fix them. Why put your hatered out there and blame a third party,US!!! Look bud I've been around a few Arab's myself, mostly the guy's we were training in naval operation's. They as a whole are not stupid people, lazy maybe, stupid no. If you are just to doggone worthless to make your home better, again how is that my fault??? Better yet, how about if we worthless Zionist's from the West had a new policy and absolutely no money was to be spent over there ,for nothing. I mean no money, no food, no aid, aid mediacl help, NOTHING. Just where do you think they would be then. They may have oil, they alway's have. Who built the infasructure to get the oil out of the ground and then out to the rest of the world???? How many refinerie's did they design and build themselve's??? Putting it simpler, how put them ON THE MAP in the first place???Again no aurgument here, just getting tired of being the Red Headed Stepchild of the World that keeps getting called whenever they (or anyone else) get in a jam. As soon as the crisis is over it's "assume the position" all over again. Now is that being insensitive, racist, better than the rest of the world ??? Frank,SeaPower
