As the worlds number 1 swimmer/athlete he knows he is under the microscope at all times. What does this say to the aspiring 12 year old swimmer/athlete? That it's ok to do drugs? You would have thought he learnt his lesson after 04 when he got caught drinking and driving underage!!! This does not look good for his sponsorship future. Probably the dumbest life decision he has made this far.

I trained with Olympic-class swimmers and divers every summer in the 70s and they were all smokin' it. So if you're going to start crossing names off of the heroes list because of some canibus - man, I gotta bucketful of names for you. And I think you might be surprised...!!!!

Think of a 10-15 year old that may be a swimmer that has the picture of there hero taped to the wall and every time they look at it think that maybe drugs are ok ? it is not a very good example.

AMEN. I've been around elite athletes as well. Many of them are so focused on their sport, that when the pressure relaxes a bit, they tend to go hog wild on all of the things that they never got a chance to do.

I'm sure my late teens and 20s wouldn't stand up to nearly the scrutiny that his has...
