Glen you brought up a great point about the license that everyone needs to understand. The whole premise of the license (so I’ve been told) is to be able to measure the economic value of recreational fishing versus commercial fishing. If the economic value of the rec fisherman grossly out weights the commercial fisherman you could see a wave of much stringent management of the fisheries (particularly affecting gill and in-shore trawler netting). Long story short, no matter which side of fence you stand on, the future of what the commercial fisherman looks like in NC hangs in the balance.
