Watched scientists discredit govt claims of no more oil last night ,stated theres no way the oil is gone,in fact visible oil has seeped into the sand causing benzine levels to rise into the 1000's of PPM,affecting the lowest levels of the food chain,by there reckoning there is still 20-30 million barrels out there.Watch..along comes another "tragedy" to displace the Spill as national news.Once again the deep south will be forgotten. From VA down..seccesion. and this time theres an advantage..Sunny Point....

Let's put this all in perspective here:
We Have Buffington initially calling the oil spill nothing to be concerned about whatsoever and even claimed that the spilled oil was nothing more than dinosaur fat.

Then---- an easy money opportunity presented itself due to Federal and BP money becoming available such that the author started his own oil cleanup business as well as recruited every week end warrior recreational fisherman possible to enlist their boat under his sub- subcontract.

It is important to then remember where this money came from and how it came to be: (Obama's deal for BP to set up a $20 Billion clean up fund)

So now that the beach and marsh clean up activities are winding down and the author's business opportunities are comng to an end, he decides to bite the hand that has fed him all along and which made his windfall business opportunity possible to begin with.

Whether oil still remains on the coean floor or not (which it clearly does), is not the issue of this thread, but rather whinning that one's golden goose has stopped laying eggs.

Jeez Glenn,making up for time lost...
as i read it, being a native of the area,and seeing hundreds of family businesses dry up and marshland destroyed..and having the feds claim "its clean" would and should raise hackles, regardless of intent or motivation. Fact: Theres still tons of oil out there, and its in the most sensitive region in the states and here comes the feds giving this enough spin ( Read-LIEING) to justify packing up and leaving, resulting in BP doing the same.

A friends grand daughter was playing on the beach in Pensicola. At the end of the day she complained of a "burning bum," all red under her bathing suit as if the sun went right through. After a doctor's visit, she was diagnosed with "oil burn," microscopic oil particles in the sand likely from dispersants...the whole shebang is far from over.......
