Worked- Head boats in New Jersey from age of 14 til University...
Began charter and tournament fishing 1979
1988-1992 Worked with Murray Brothers in lure end of business
1992 Created Compleat Angler Marine- lure company with charter boats
1989- 1993 Chaired Classic American Sport Fishing Tournaments

+- 500 tournaments fished
+- 5000 billfish caught
+- 5000 days fished

Environmental support:
Strong support for IGFA and TBF through 1998
Stopped support for IGFA when they became more or less private club requiring membership to even view records. Other personal factors involved also...
Stopped support for TBF when their direction became too protective of species and less friendly to fishing community.

Other Notes: Self regulated catch past state and federal regulations starting in 1980.

Began all release of billfish for charters1984, including mounts
Voluntarily ceased all blue fin tuna fishing 1996
Voluntarily used circles in conjunction with live baits since 1999
Stopped all natural spreads in 2001... Went to fish friendly combo spreads
Will not use kites for billfish...

Primary species of interest... Billfish, swordfish, sharks...

Lure factory destroyed by hurricanes Frances and Jeanne in September, 2004...
Re-opened September, 2006...

deep, read the post, and printed out the governmental read tape, i will be happy to formulate the e-petition, should be able to have it up and running on monday with a link directly to it so everyone on this board and other people we know can attach to it. Please advise.

Exactly put Deep remember NMFS and NOAA are both run by the U.S Dept. of Commerce so just starting with NMFS is a start but the seriosness of the situation unfolded long before NMFS got their hands on it that is the hard part of what we are up against ! As you saw it is really tough to get everyone on the right track instead of just typing about it to buck up or show up is impossible but awareness and discussion can get us started!!!PEACE
