    Talking Night fishing fans

Anyone do a lot of night fishing? What lighting system are you using?
I'm working on an inexpensive prototype......just testing the water
    to see what's out there.

Do you mean like in the water, like a hydroglow or do you mean like for spreader lights?

Not sure what your looking for as a system for night fishing, are you looking for underwater lights, or spreader lights?
If your talking about spreader lights to run all night, you either need a generator or to run them off a separate and dedicated battery so you do not kill your start batteries. This spring I'm running a dedicated lighting system, 2 Pyramid Tech HID 21w spreader lights, run off a separate and dedicated battery. I plan to charge the battery at home the night before and then just connect it and turn it on as needed. I may run wires to the house batteries to allow for charging on the way in our out if needed, but it will not be connected when lit. These lights are brighter then your standard halogen spreader lights and will use less battery. It comes at a cost, $200 a light and will need a goos sized battery to run all night long. I will test it out in the beginning of May doing some overnight striped bass trips, but my goal is to use it at the canyon. My boat does not have a generator, and I already place a liferaft on the bow, so I opted against adding more gear up forward unless I need to. On paper it all works out.

Thoes little protable honda generators work great, plus they are very quiet, just a little hum.

    Lights...

I use everything to 4 regular shop lights with 100 watt bulbs from Home depot and a big hot 8-d battery, to two hydro-glows for fishing lookdowns to swordfish at night. The hydro glows seem to do great Bass Pro has some green ones that are smaller that work wonders also.
