Newbie to the site and a question

    Hey guys

I'm sorta a newbie to the site as far as posting, although I've been lurkin for a while. During the giant "controversy" I didn't much want to get involved with any of it. I watched the show and it seemed so rediculous, I felt it couldn't be real.

Anyway, you guys have a fine site here, and I'd like to offer up anything I can when it will be of use. I'm not a charter capt. just a regular guy who's put in 35 years or so in the bays, and haunting the canyons. I love to fish and it shows!

I have a question for anyone that might be able to help.

There's some pretty good online NOAA charts you can view for free at http://www.nauticalcharts.gov/viewer/

Once you get there, hit the link under "online charts" for Atlantic Coast ( or anywhere you'd like actually) and you can study just about every inch of tidal water from maine to Texas. It's sorta neat if you've never seen it.

But my question is, does anyone know of any sort of online chart that might show the Canyons? I wanted to show my son the outline of the Toms or Spencer, etc, but couldn't find one.
Anyone know of such a thing?

    Thanks
    Bob

Thanks for the link Flat.. it's a start

I'm not in NJ right now, I'm in Florida, and the tackle shops here don't tend to have many NE canyon charts.

I have to figure that somewhere there's a pretty good slew of them online, like the ones I posted for inshore. Just haven't found em yet.

Thanks for the welcome Miles...It's where I'd like to be too, lol

    Thanks

Bay Bob welcome to Sfc. The controversary you have lurked through here is not what this site is about. I'm sure it will fade away pretty fast and we can get back to helping each other out with trying to catch that dream fish. Again WELCOME

    http://www.nauticalcharts.gov/viewer/

    this is from chart 12300

edit: it covered more area when I saved it

welcome aboard bay bob, you will have alot of fun here, though my wife tells me i spend more time on here, then paying attention to her. OH WELL, lol, after 15years, how much attention does she need, but i digress. Thanks for your intro.

since we are on the subject of charts, does anyone have any experience with ( heck im not sure what they are called) these super duty charts on the pcs, supposedly give accurate contours of the bottom, i think furuno has one out called max sea or something?

    Tim
