First time on site and just moved to the NC area, I'd like to get in on the striper run this spring in the Cape Fear looking for a little info. Have been fishing mostly the Southport Oak Island area so far.

Welcome Polar Guy, I'm a little north of you, but this is the place to learn about and discuss fishing, among other things.

Check out the threads in the "NC, SC, and GA" forum.

And, you might not have to wait to spring to get those stripers.

Polar Guy, welcome to the board. Go getm now. Try up the NE cape fear past the train trussel up to the new bypass brige. One of the best times of the year and I like overcast days best...

    hey

Welcome polar. If you want to get in on a striper run, then hit the Roanoke River this April. The Cape Fear is mostly hit or miss, and mostly miss.
