New to the site ---prepping for the keys

Love the site. I can see many hours getting ready for my Keys trip this year. Staying in Islamorada for 10 days in early April. Planning a lot of shore fishing, kayak fishing, and a charter on this 3rd tip in the last 4 years.
I expect to learn a lot from this site...already have.

I spent Christmas week in Marathon and we fished on the Ocean and Gulf every day. It was a lot of fun and caught a lot of fish but nothing to brag about. Have fun on this site and in the Keys.

Welcome. Usually make a yearly trip to the largo area and fished between there and Islamorada. Caught my first sail there a few years ago.

    Enjoy.

Planning on a lot of pics. We have 13 of us going down...6 of them high school seniors.
This my 3rd trip and I have been doing a lot of studying up on where and how to fish the area...from shore, to bridges, to boats.
Probably only one big charter. More than likely get a bunch of us on a party charter for a few hours.
Also planning on renting a couple kayaks. I have a thought about hitting a shark on a kayak...just to say I did it. It will get a lot of legs up here in Michigan, and should be a little bit more of a challenge over a 20" bass or 30" Northern out of a kayak.

    Cool

    Hi doc!
I'm from Rockford myself. Did a Charter in Marathon several years back. I found someone that would take singles to split the charter cost...sounds like you have plenty of fishin' partners though.
Kayak fishing sounds like a blast down there. I can't wait until my next trip to the Keys. It's hard to get too excited about a bass or Northern once you've caught a few in the ocean.
    Have a great trip!
