A new site for a new year.
Hello all. I am new here and would like to introduce myself. As is apparently a common theme, I have also migrated from "that other site" where I was known as Nepenthe. I changed my name here because Nepenthe was the name of a downeast boat that I came close to buying a couple of years ago. Subsequently, I did not buy the boat and could not get cooperation for a name change on that other site. It's an appropriate moniker for the boating and fishing lifestyle, but it's time for a change.
I fish in the Great South Bay along the South Shore of Long Island and inshore/offshore out of Jones and Fire Island inlets. My two young kids love to fish and my wife is known to throw a line out as well. I'm relatively new to the game, so I will primarily be a sponge here, but i look forward to contributing where I feel I can add value.
I recently signed up for Don Hammond's Dolphin Tagging Study http://dolphintagging.homestead.com/index.html and hope to participate actively in tagging dolphin this upcoming season. It is my understanding that there aren't many participants in the Northeast, so I look forward to assisting in the process of learning more about the migratory pattern of this pelagic.
