New SFC Layout

Fact is anytime we make changes we need to here from you all. This site is for the public and our goals all along have been to help you all enjoy the online fishing world.

We have listened to all the bitching for years about every other site and its format or its owners.

I have tried to give you all a format that is above the rest.

Number one ***** that came from everyone about other sites was the owners seemed to just rule the site.
As a owner I have kept my nose out of the day to day things on the board to allow you the chance to speak freely. But sometimes this seems to bite me as some of you think we are not here paying attention.
You may not see it but we do deal with things. We deal with people who miss use our site but we do it on the phone or via email and sometimes it takes a few days to solve something. We do not like to re act in public by deleting right away as it can show the wrong motive.

I have made this site so when buying an add that is what you buy is an ad not owner ship of our site.

We have kept databases on trouble makers. We have watched those who are just assholes. We are always working towards better ways to run the boards to keep things in the right direction.

Hard part is this is a open website and seems people choose to get mad then pick up the phone and speak with me or email me. This site and industry have a ton of conflicts that you all do not see in public and this makes it very hard to move forward. Hell I do believe we just got a email from a guy who wanted to write for us but a magazine told him if he writes for us he will not be published anymore. lol
The list of problems like this go on and on.

What we need to make this place work is content.
Funny part is we have over 400,000 readers passing through here from all major areas of the USA and abroad but yet a lot of you continue to not give us the local content. Those of you that do seem to do well on getting trips and selling products. Maybe one day more of you will find that producing good content and steady reports brings on good things.

There is some great oppertunities on this site and some forums sitting there that could be made into something great. All it takes is posting and they will grow. May not grow right away but when poeple log in and see new active posts they will check back more and more.

We are willing to build and do what ever but we are only half the team as the membership is what makes the site grow.

Please help me understand what you have to get used to ?

Nothing you are used to has changed except the tool bar has been made cleaner. The front of the site yes its has been changed but it only breaks out the site to help people who want to keep things organized. For years so many people have said that forums loose great content. So the outcome of the new front end is organization. So when a great thread or article gets posted it can also get archived in the front section so it will be easy to find.

Is it the colors ? if it sucks just say it sucks and what you would like to see I am here to work with you all not go against you all.

I ain't really noticed a whole lot of difference there John--- sorry if I was supposed to . It works for me, and if I don't get confused, it must be pretty simple and well organized.
Hell, I noticed a couple of little things different the other day but just figured Jer had gotten into the Brazilian hooch again.
Just please don't reinsitute the damn "Who's your momma" thing that goes off constantly
BTW, the Blue and White color scheme works well for me---- imagine that.

I would like to say that the changes you have made have not affected my audio screen reader. For that I am gratefull. In addition, things are a little easier for me to navigate as I figure things out, again, thanks!

I don't know if it would help anyone else, or if there is an easy way to get back to the top of a page in existance, but that would help folks like me out. (When my reader is running, the screen is filled by a single post, so I must scroll up or down.) It is a minor thing, and I problably shouldn't mention it it public.

The content and people of this site have kept me coming back no matter how frustrating MY software problems have been in the past. Please continue on the course you have set, I love it!

best fishing site on the web hands down. Only thing I'd like to know is how to post pictures now that the format has changed. It says my pics are to big when it use to just re size them automatically.

Your doing a great job dude! The enhancements are great and I really like the layout and all the new features. I'm fairly new on here but I also know what it takes to make this site as great as it is since I am an IT guy. So I want to make sure that you hear just how good it is. Folks it's alot of work and tweaking after a major upgrade like this. Bear with them and let em know how great of a site this is and job they are doing.

John, let me know the periods that you want articles and I'll continue to write hunting articles for the site too.

And those of ya'll that want to immediately increase your text size and don't have a roller mouse, just hold the ctrl key down and slide your mouse up and down. Same on a laptop touchpad.

I am a member of another forum and they have a spot where members can make donations or become premium members. All that changes is next to your name it says premium member and that you are a contributer. You could do something like that so it would be optional and a great way to help SFC grow. I know if I had the ability to I would love to make a donation here and there for all the money time and fish this place has saved me I almost feel I owe it to SFC to help it grow for helping me grow as a person and a fisherman. Thanks admin for all your work I love this place!
