New NC Charter Boat - James Joyce II

I have been kinda quiet on here lately with a lot of work to do - now I guess you will see why. We recently acquired a 2002 model 51' carolina custom boat to be named James Joyce II. We finally got her back to Morehead City and she is docked at Morehead City Yacht basin, slip 47 on C dock. I have been busy going through everything and getting it all set up just right - we are nearly there and hope to run our first trip this coming week/weekend.

She is 51' long with a 16'3" beam. Twin Detroit MTU60 series diesels. Furuno Navnetvx2 gps and sounder. Radar is being replaced in the next week or 2, probably furuno also. 3 VHF. Lots of seating in the salon, new microwave, tv/dvd about to be installed, 3 AC units - plenty comfy! Entire cockpit has just been refit with new rigging stations and a fat 800# fish box!

I will be running her full time from here on out for charters and will also do some tourneys and traveling for the owners. Give us a shout or stop by and see us!! Look forward to posting lots of reports for everybody soon!

you're killin me with that appointment thing man!!!! Still need to get together with you this week Shane, I'll catch you at the boat in the next few days. Hopefully you will see plenty of her chasing you around this year - if not, I will see if I can get you on the "guest list" at MCYB!!!!!

Lee - she was designed by Glen Haught. Survey says builder is "Virginia Marine Institute". That is all we got, no other names. She is very solidly built, maybe even a bit on the "heavy" side so she ought to ride damn good.

    Thanks guys!!

actually we picked her up from there. The cockpit work was completed at Buddy Canady's place and she was brought to Pirates Cove for us to take delivery. We got there on Fri 3/7 and we brought her back to Morehead Sunday 3/9. We were pushed for time to make ready for the ride and I was riding with the owners so I did not have the time I would have liked to get out and see folks like I had planned. Either way, we will likely make it back up there sooner or later for either tourneys or just for fun.

Geeezus man, dem crab pots in the channel up there make for a fun ride towards the inlet and Old House huh??

Nice ride Troy. I'm sure she will have that new cockpit messed up in no time with you at the wheel. Best of luck with the new ride and venture.
