It was very common to pull campers on the beach while clamming, riding sand rails or motorcycles. If a guy pulled in at night and didn't know there was a big minus tide and parked in a vacant area, when the tide came in people got caught. I saw this happen to 2 duck hunters camping along the Yollo Bypass outside Sacramento. They were camped under a bridge, it rained about 8" overnight, and the already high creeks were 10' over flood stage by morning and the water filled the campers to the brim. Both trucks were ruined. Not mine btw!
