    New to the Forum

    Just wanted to say hey. I am from Destin, FL but in Okinawa for a few years. If anyone has been here and know's anything about it here let me know please. I am also trying to find a certain lure that Braid used to make, I will post a picture and if anyone wants to get rid of some of these please let me know. Thank you

    Chris,I was there...spent nearly 5 years on the "rock" and loved every minute of it. Having said that...it was back in the early 90's and I'm sure things have changed. When I was there (Kadena) I would rent the cc's they had at the marina right outside the gate. I never had much luck, obviously it's a little different out in the middle of the Pacific vs what I was accustomed to back on the Chesapeake. I do know that one of the largest Great Whites ever caught was off the north end of the island, and through personal diving experience I can also tell you that there was an abundance of Grouper all around. Your best bet is to visit the club on base and look for some of the retiree's who retired and stayed there. I will bet if you buy a couple rounds of Orion, that the local "intel" will start flowing.
