New Camera??

i was 4 wheeling today in costa rica. we stop at a waterfall. camera was in a case that was in a backpack. pulled it out and screen was cracked all over . backpack was on front rack of guides 4 wheeler. the camera is a kodak digital. i checked their site and i prob. will not be able to get another.. what are your suggestions on getting a digital camera with lots of zoom.... looking 4 one not 2 expensive... thanks

If you want something semi-compact with lots of zoom, look at the Panasonic Lumix family. They have some point and shoot models with 10x and 12x optical zoom and image stabilization in the $250 range. Start by looking at the DMC-TZ3K model.
