OHHHHHH NOOOOOO!!!!
Listen bro, i dont know what size boat youre repowering, or what type of engines your gettn but i can tell you this!!!
SHORTS SUCKS!!!!!!![]()
Trust me dude, Ill give you some examples:
1. We bought a brand new jet ski from them in 2002, that same year it broke down 2ice. The next year, it broke down 2twice, the next year blew a fuel injector and was out for the season!
The last time we took are ski to get repaired there they told us, SORRY YOURE SKI ISNT UNDER WARANTY ANY MORE. Well my stepdad new a mechanic there and he had him look it up, they were F@#$N us over, we still had a year of warranty left. they said SORRY ARE MISTAKE!
Thats just the instances with jet skis... If you take youre boat there i can gaurentee you this
1. It will take probably double the time to get worked on than any other boat shop.
2. They will definatlly over charge you and probably double the price.
And i know many, many boaters that have taken there boats there and have had horrendis problems, and have gotten litterally thrown out of the store because they were so mad..
These are just my thoughts and opinions of SHORTS MARINE![]()

Your gonna get a mix of replies. for instance, I talked to Cowboy and he is satisfied with them.
Me........Well personally, I don't like them and only use them for supplies when I have too!!
They tried to screw me a couple times!!!
I would sooner pm you about my experiences instead of posting them on the board here.![]()
Dont get me wrong here Proheat, Im a nice guy...
I would never ever say anything bad about someone, or a specific company unless i had some horrible experiences with them...
And trust me man i had some very bad experiences. Just tryn to warn some people so they can save their time and money.![]()
we had our e-tecs put on there, i drove the boat up this year and dropped it off, they were finished when they said they would be, and we are happy, years ago when we lived up there we had some bad mixed with the good.
There's also a "rude" dealer in north Delaware to stay far away from. Just a warning. Probably worse than Shorts.
I've always had pretty good luck with Walkers Marine in Seaford, DE. 302-629-8666. They are on Woodland road behind Dupont.
if you don't mind going a little further north in delaware i would recommend Almar's in new castle, De. 302.328.8541 have had good experiences with them many times. prices are going to probably be the best to since they are a big dealer in outboards. Mercury that is.
wouldn't count out carlisle's in newark either. number slips by me right now.
