    NEED RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CAR GPS

I WAS LOOKING AT THE Magellan Roadmate 3000T Portable GPS Navigation BUT THE REVIEWS I READ ON IT WERE NOT FAVORABLE.

LOOKING IN THE $300-$450 OR SO RANGE.

    MANY THANKS FOR ANY RECOMMENDATIONS.

Philly I put a Garmin C550 in my wifes car, she's a realtor and is always looking for addresses. It's very easy to use and you get free map updates from their website. Look on Ebay for whatever model you decide on, we paid $600 for hers and you can get them new in box on Ebay for around $499 now.

SeaPro, thanks for the response. Is Garmin a quality product, in your opinion?

Definitely get the Garmin! Stay away from the Magellan and Lowrance car GPS units!! I've got the Street Pilot 2730 and love it! It's a bit of an older unit (2-3 years) however I got a really good deal on it new in the box and couldn't turn it down. (It's a $1300 unit) As SeaPro said, the C550 is a great unit as is the C330 (I think that's the number on it) which is last year's version of the C550 and a bit smaller. You should be able to find a great deal on these. Also check out the Nuvi series from Garmin. I got the Street Pilot since it came with a sandbag mount instead of the suction cup or permanent mount. I'm a manufacturer's rep. and take it out of my truck and into EVERY rental car that I get. The sandbag mount just made it easier for me. Can't go wrong with the Garmin though.

Thanks a lot for the replies fellas. I just done reading all the product reviews for the CC550 and they were overwhelmingly positive. Seems one minor complaint is the windshield mounting suction cup.

Bought my wife a Garmin StreetPilot 330 a few years ago. Price now is less than half of what I paid.

I great little unit. Highly recommended.

Philly, we don't even mount the unit on the suction cup, my wife is scared someone will break into her new car to grab it. We usually just put it on the center consol and have never had a problem with the unit getting a signal.
I think for the money you can't beat a Garmin.

I got an email from a friend on another site about the TomTom Go 300. Reviews gush over this product.

Any opinions on the TomTom Go 300?
