Need help- financing for charter boat

My friend is purchasing a boat and he plans on using it for charter, the boat is under 30 ft and he is looking for a good company who work's with charterboats on the financing. The current company who was planning on financing him said that they would not finance the boat for charter. My friend is located in virginia and the boats being built in florida. Can any charter captains out there reccomend a good financing firm?

You could try Wells Fargo finanical, they used to be Telmark Leasing. They may do it. I leased my engines from them, a little pricey, but damn easy if you have good credit.

Don't be late with the nut ! All kidding aside , I'll get back to you with some info tomorrow as it's too late to give my buddy a call . He has his own mortgage company and is an avid fisherman and might be willing to talk to your friend about a loan .

Baybanger- I'm not trying to sound too critical here, but shouldn't your buddy have made sure that he could get financing before he placed the order for the boat? It would be a hell of a problem if the boat was built and he couldn't pay for it when it is complete.

My friend is already approved for the financing on the boat but the company's he's dealing with slipped it in at the last minute that they were interested in only doing it for pleasure not charter. He has good credit and a good job so the financing won't be a problem as along as he finds the right company. I'll ceck out trident. Thanks for the replys
