    Need advice new york tomorrow.

Ok i have a meeting at starbucks at 54th and 1st tomorrow at 10 am
its a 2 hour ride from here. Should i leave tonight and stay in a hotel ?
How is parking for a big old ford truck ?
If i leave in the morning how much time should i allow.
Normal day would be about 2 hours but i have never drove there during the morning rush.

Any advice would be great !

    Thanks

54th & 1st? Good luck man... you better head out now.
Just getting to the City in the AM is a b!tch, not to mention Cross town Traffic. Actually, If you can get into Manhattan by 9am, via Linclon Tunnel, You should be able to get cross town and parked by 10am. Parking is a pain for anything in the city, remember Trucks & SUV's pay extra $$ in the parking Garages.

The question is traffic, summer time is light, but you never know on the GSP & Turnpike. From Cape May area, I'd plan on leaving by 6am, if you get there early, hell your in Starbuck, fill out the mortage application and you may get approved for enough money to buy a cup of coffee... hope this is helpful, good luck and safe trip.

    John,
Believe it or not I know a little about the City and commuting there. You will go insane trying to find a parking deck that will let that rig of yours in there. Take the Train--- no worries, plus you'll have an easy, safe place to park somewhere in suberbia. If you're still in that neighborhood around lunch, there is an awesome sushi bar @ 52nd & Lex--- and fairly cheap.

I'm not familiar w/ Hotels in Mahattan... Just stay outside of City and join the lemmings in the AM. Try Secaucus... that right on Rt3/ 495 that leads to Lincoln Tunnel. Its cheaper to stay NJ.
Here's a web link for area hotels, try the Holiday Inn, its right off the Turnpike, 5 minutes from the tunnel:

Ive been 3 times in the last month on day trips from BWI. TAKE THE TRAIN. Leave that rig at home, trust me. The only place you might have luck parking it would be at chelsea piers.

check with the hotel, they may provide free shuttle into Mahattan as well... even if you have to pay, its got to be cheaper than parking the rig and the tolls combined.

Train is easy, PATH Train from Hoboken - take it to 33rd or even the Ferry in Weehawkin then grab a cab... but I wasn't sure of your comfort level with navigating NY Metro Area. I'm heading out, good luck, hope this was helpful to you.
