Not sure how much you need as far as activities, but you can't beat Ocracoke Island's beaches and you are fishing the same waters as Hatteras. If you stay on the boat, try Anchorage Marina. They have a pool right on Silver Lake Harbor and all the restaurants are within a 5-15 minute walk. Nearest beach access is about 1.5 miles out in the National Seashore. I have friends that could hook you up with a 4x4 rental for the beach or a skiff for inshore fishing, clamming, etc. If you are not planning to stay on the boat, pm me and I will see what we have available that might work for you.
Ocracoke is a good place with little shops around, Atlantic Beach/Beaufort/Morehead, Wilmington. I spend 98% of my life in those locations and love them all, on the water and off.
If you plan on fishing more than anything else I would stay in Pirate's Cove...the billfish bite bite should be insane. Everyone will be getting geared up for the tournament this week too so you might want to check slip availability early...
They still had a really good bite in hatteras that time too though.
When we were fishing blue fin in the winter out of Hatteras in the winter, we stayed at Hatteras Landing. There was a hotel there with a pool and the beach was right across the street.
