MY RECENT DERAILMENT IN THE CONTENDER HULL THREAD!

I am just curious as to why this thread was started over 6 months after the original thread ended. I may have missed something while I was in Costa rica but what happened to make you bring up a 6+ months old thread that appeared dead?

LL was showing the older thread as an example to the ridiculous posting portrayed by vinny. The same ridiculous remark vinny had in that thread is on par with the ridiculous remark he had in the current thread. The current thread is posted in Wahoonbox forum

This thread illustrates the best and worst of the internet. The good news is that many can contribute and therfore the original questioner gets a wide range of information -- the bad news is that one never knows the veracity of the information. We have owned 4 center console boat brands over the past 12 years ranging from 23 to 33 feet. The Contender by far is the best offshore fishing platform we have ever owned. Our current ride is a 2008 Contender 33t with twin Mercury Verado 300s. It is also the first boat I have personally run where I feel as if I (and my crew) will break before the boat -- a good feeling in the 6-8s' we fish in sometimes. All in all a great boat....email with any specific questions.

Mary, I wouldn't be too concerned with the derailment.....just part of the scene (unfortunately). Are you heading south for the Miami show?

These are not the "only" two threads that this has happened in. Not even just to me.

I can take the lol hahaha stuff but misguiding people is wrong.

Personal attack againest me and my work or knowledge is wrong as well.

I have never ever told someone something that I wasnt sure of nor will I ever.

If I can't recall the exact 100% correct answer to the question asked and if I am not sure of myself I DO NOT ANSWER OR GIVE ADVICE. If I do answer I will make it known that this is what I think and that I want to double check my thoughts with someone that will be 100% correct

This is not about a sale to me, its not about Contender, Its not about money. Its about helping a member of this site make an educated decision on the question that they are directly asking.

Do you see me giving advice on how to catch Giants?? No, because I don't know and I will never tell someone I know something that I dont know 1st hand or have experience with.

I have no problems with Vinny what so ever other than commenting on things he should not comment on. I would sit in a bar today and have beers with the man. This is not personal to me, its just a matter that needs to be dealt with.

how can you mis guide someone with a personal opinion!? you sell them and market them great... you have professional knowledge on them..

shit mary.. you know as well as i know that half of the people in your field dont know chit on chit about boats.. and thats just plain scary.. anyone can talk specifications and shit and i know you know all about them..

i was not attacking you personally do not get me wrong.. but when i state a factual opinion about a boat i dont think it worth its weights in gold TO ME THAT IS i will state the facts about it..

i simply told a friend i do not care of them and maybe get another hull.. especially since i personally know what he is looking to spend..

my friend has a 27 and it is like a teal sided hull out of stouts creek forked river called waterproof..

sweet boat and he does love it.. but i dont find it to be an offshore battlewagon at all... also ridden on a few others and that is my opinion!!! just my opinion..

this is not directed at you mary and i am sorry to derail the thread but it is a public forumn and misleading information was not given at all. i never said anything specific on the contender other than i do not care for them.. as i am sure you dont care for a few specific boats around the world that are built and would have a strong opinon on them as well..
