Not really sure why anyone cares what anyone else is wearing! I used to think the Butterfly jig was another stupid gimick until.......I LEARNED HOW TO USE IT!!! Just like the diamond jig and bucktail were once new and people I'm sure laughed at them. I fished with 2 guys earlier last year and they spanked me with those DUMB ASS JIGS. SO I LEARNED how to use them the right way. Much like circlehooks. People feel the need to say things suck or don't work, When they don't understand them or use them themselves. Maybe you suck! (By all means not directed at anyone) Remember all tackle and gear was NEW once.

    Thats an easy one...

artificials + sliding a fish through the doors + gloves = clean as a whistle

    Undeserved

As I sit here in my new Ocean City, MD shop reading this thread: I just sold a pair of cool Camo Gray Pelagic Sandals, took an order for an Accurate reel, discussed Butterfly jigs with a highly skilled angler who just caught a bunch of fish with them on a wreck in NC, and I can personally attest that Fluorocarbon line is highly effective compared to mono on the tuna bite while chunking, and I feel...

That your rant is negative, unnecessary, unwarranted, and the top notch companies mentioned contribute tremendous value to our sport and make quality products on a consistant basis.

In my opinoin: Pelagic is cool, the jigs work great, Accurates are super smooth and strong and Floro is totally necessary for certain applications.

I can think of many other things to rant about, but not these items.

Theres a right time for everything. Its become a style of fishing that people are obsessed with and refuse to fish any other way.

Joe...please...if you read any of my posts or reports you would understand i am an extremely "tongue-in-cheek" opinionist...offering little in the way of negativism and certainly not much along the lines of personal attacks...however, if your feelings did get hurt...or Squiddly's for that matter...i'll pre-empt or footnote any future opinions with a disclaimer...

If you re-read my post you will CLEARLY see that i in no way attacked young Mr Squiddly personally...in fact i set out to objectively define why companies like PELAGIC are so important to this industry...and why there is a benefit to being on their PRO TEAM...a fact he certainly seems to be short on...and which seems to be at the heart of the issue he was getting at...

Mr Squiddly can defend himself i'm sure...if he's got the balls to cough up a post like this...i'm sure he can handle a few hairballs thrown back at him...

A fortunate thing...because hair balls tend to blend in well with Guy Harvey print shirts... (DISCLAIMER: that was sarcasim again in case you missed it...)

Why are they so "important"? Do you catch more YFT because of your camo shorts? Can the fish not see you or something?

The only benefit I SEE is that they get a top-notch captain, such as yourself, to promote their products. THATS IT. Its simply advertising.

I clearly stated in my FIRST post that I just didnt understand what the big deal was with them. Everyone talks about their gear being so great and how they love wearing it, but when it comes down to brass taxes, they dont help you catch more fish nor make you a better fisherman....

I stay away from threads like this but do believe every person has the right to a opinion of a products.

Dont use accurate always use floro and to be honest I have never worn a Peligic shirt but love my shorts. They are dark blue been covered in shit loads of blood and crap and they clean right up for me and they still look new after a year of abuse.

Actually some really interesting input in this thread thanks for posting

Squiddly...companies like Pelagic are important because of what they give back to the industry...they genuinely care about the viable future of this resource, our ability to support ourselves doing something we love, and the betterment of everyone involved...

I thought i explained this and i'll save you the long-winded version but that...in a nutshell...is why clothes have little to do with it...

It's about staking a claim in the industry...be it as a captain, mate, manufacturer, retailer, what have you...and contributing to the greater good...we all have something to offer...but it's how you conduct yourself and help your fellow humans that sets you apart...

And i...for one thing...will always work with companies who share these goals...

Does wearing Pelagic help me catch more fish?

    HELL YES IT DOES...

Because in my opinion i'm a much sexier ***** in Pelagic than Guy Harvey...and when i'm feeling sexy that means my MOJO is on DEF-CON 5 "HIGH ALERT"...

And when that happens...yes...you can bet your ass i'll be catching more fish...

Damn Josh, the man just said the Pelagic product was a piece of shit is all-- he didn't say the company's owners were communists.
