    Admin, help me out here!

On those rare occassions that you've been seen not wearing a Sportfisherman.com shirt, what do wear and didn't not even know it one on occassion? Who's printing have you seen run through the bleach bucket and destroy only the shirt dyes?

I FAILED TO SEE ANYONE MENTION THOSE FANCY LONG SLEEVE SHIRTS WITH VENTS...YELLOWS...PINKS...LAVENERS... ONES THAT THE TV GUYS WEAR...........AND THEN THERE'S THE SCARF..............WHAT THE F IS THE SCARF FOR? WHY ........

......man BOX I always think the same thing. Not to mention those so called shirts only come in pastel colors.

Another thing that I can't seem to figure out with these guys. How do you fish all day long from dark to sunset........and come to the dock clean?

No way in hell can you do that w/o any splatter. I got a whole dresser of just fishing clothes that are so stained that they're only good for one reason. MORE BLOODSHED!!

Matter of fact, I need to order another squidnation and SFC shirt. They're alreadt toast.

I know I'm gonna be all alone on this one,but what's up with all the visors. I guess I understand on most of you guys with a head full of hair, but I'm bald. No hair what so ever. I keep getting people giving me visors... FOR WHAT?

    It's half a hat.....

    My big bald,black,shiny head in a visor.......now that's a sight.

If I hold my head down it looks like someone's taking a big dump.

Just my little rant of my own.

I don't get MICROFIBER - give me good old cotton for T-Shirts!

Someone gave me one of those fancy microfiber T-shirts that are supposed to "WICK the perspiration away" - Well - I don't perspire - I SWEAT - That frickin thing stuck to me like a lycra running suit (I'm guessing - You wouldn't catch me dead in lycra )

I also agree - I never come back clean after a day of fishing - Never, No Way, No How - Why would I wear a bowling shirt fishing??? - I damn sure ain't gonna wear the shoes fishing!!!!

But without question, flouro has superior abraision resistance and is less tangle prone.

Great post. Just great. You must be my twin brother.

Dont forget, you cant catch a blue marlin unless you have a life size blue marlin sticker on the back of your truck window.

Well Squiddly...i'm certainly no expert but let me lend my opinion to ease your burdened soul...

1.) Butterfly jigs...while Shimano may offer the most expensive "deep drop" jigs on the market...there are other manufacturers who produce less expensive jigs (a fraction of the cost) that work exceptionally well...and believe you me...i have seen first hand the effectiveness of these jigs...recollections spring to mind of more than a few days when yellowfin tuna refused to come to the surface and deep drop jigging saved our day...most conventional jigs (diamond jigs, taddys, etc.) could not penetrate the water column quickly enough to get down to where the fish were...yet "butterfly" style deep drop jigs rocketed to the depths and produced fish time and time again. These jigs are for highly specialized itineraries and should not be utilized in all applications...heed this advice however: when fish are deep and current, tide, and depth of fish negate the performance of "regular" jigs...go to the "butterfly" style and you will be rewarded.

2.) Fluorocarbon...lots of room for some friendly arguments here...first of all you neglected to offer that fluoro often has much smaller line diamaters than regular mono of the same line strength rating...and given the fact that is DOES show up less than regular mono...as you stated in your notes...fluoro will catch you more fish because of it's lower profile and better refractive qualities...let's also mention that indeed fluoro has tremendous abrasion resistance and therefore lets you scale down in leader class...i can use Stren or Berkley 200# fluoro whereas historically i've needed 300 - 400# mono leader. So let's review...better refractive qualities ( however small...a win is still a win...), smaller diamater, and much higher abrasion resistance...YUP! in my book it's worth the extra dollars...

3.) PELAGIC OFFSHORE GEAR...as a member of the Pelagic Pro Team and proud supporter of this company...i have to think that this rant has something to do with some stock options or personal ties you have in conjunction with Aftco or Guy Harvey...in all my years in this industry before Pelagic came around we were stuck with wearing "old school" garb fit for fundraisers and IGFA ceremonies...you should see the photos of us from our Islamorada, FL days in...(GASP!)...pink button downs and bandannas... FINALLY!!! Pelagic Offshore Gear enters the ranks and offers fisherman and outdoor enthusiasts all over the world a much needed breath of fresh air.

It's not just about style and performance and clothing either...if you pick up a recent catalogue you'll find that they do indeed make a lot more than just clothing...fish bags, gloves, lure bags, etc. with new products coming every year...

If you don't like the gear...DON'T BUY IT! and I'll look for you in Guy Harvey's latest attire...sure to be a head turner...

Pelagic Offshore Gear is feeding a young, aggressive energy into the sport and soliciting captains...like me...who share life-long viable commitments to this industry...they help their "team" with promotions, equipment, exposure, video, print, ESPN, you name it...we're talking a LOT more than just a few shirts and hats amigo...

4.) Accurate...while i am definitely an AVET man, i have started to use a few Accurates because Avet does not have a complete line of reels yet...like 80's and 130's and spinners... to each his own but i just can't seem to find the constructive reasoning behind bashing one of the few companies out there who are firmly commited to furthering advancements in reel technology...

I don't know Squiddly...every one of these manufacturers you just bashed are sold through the very retailers who own ad space or forums on this site and i just can't seem to get my mind around why someone would throw this kind of press out there...if you're really concerned about these products why not write a letter of concern to these companies outlining how and why you think they could make things better...believe you me they would sure love to hear productive comments...

You catch more flies with honey...and things do tend to develop...and evolve...better with cooperation...
