Check out the guy in the back, Lesson 1, when getting swamped in an inlet you have no business being in, don't drop your beer.

The one I really love is having surfers paddling across the inlets "to get to the other side" when you're trying to time the standing waves and navigate safely through them. Especially at busy times when you got ships, tugs, sailboats, a party boat, a couple guys drift fishing, a few clowns snorkelling and a half dozen 60' class sport boats comming and going...

What a freaking IDIOT!!!!!!! I would slug that moron if I were the guy in the back. More money than sense seems to be pretty common on the water these days.

What would the wind situation be on a day that could cause that conditions in that inlet? It looks like manasquan on a 25-30 east day

That is friggin classic! I also don't think there is any way he stayed in the boat.
Also love the guy in the second pic with one hand on his beer still...Moron.

actually in Boynton it dosn't have to be too windy. The bar on the outside of the inlet constantly shifts and now it is only about 6 feet so if there is any swell at all, it breaks, especially on the outgoing tide. Add some wind and forget it. The other day I left at 3am to go gogging, came back in at first light no problem, switched tackle and hit the inlet again at 7:30am and it was standing up 6-7 foot breakers straight across. At 10AM my buddy called me to let me know that the Sheriff wouldn't let anybody in or out because it was so bad. We had to wait for slack tide to get back in. It is crazy but with a good fast boat and a little practice you can usually get in and out with no incident.
