I TURNED MY COMPUTER OFF WHEN I WENT ON VACATION....NOW I RETURN TO TURN IT ON....AND WTF?


THIS IS WHAT I GET WHEN I TURNED IT ON:
BLACK BACKGROUND SCREEN WITH SOME MUMBO JUMBO WRITING ON IT

THE LAST SENTENCE SAYS: " REBOOT & SELECT PROPER BOOT DEVICE OR INSERT BOOT MEDIA SELECTED"

Do you have a disk in your A drive? 3.5" floppy inserted into your A drive will sometimes cause that.

Go into your Bios & check the Boot Sequence. It should be C:\ first then a:\, D:\ etc.

Or a CD-ROM (D drive). It's less common than what O-SEA-D said, but some computers are configured to boot from the D drive, or it is in the boot sequence

Since the puter ain't working, I recon you'll have to use pencil & paper. I would start with something like---
