Don't get excited, I'm talkin about the one behind my house,
Ya know filled with Water.
I took the canals temperature today and it's 49 at the surface.
For all you greenpeace kind of people the canal did not seem to mind the intrusion.

So, I dropped a trap in baited with crushed crab.
think I'll find anything in the morning ?
Is it to soon.

Ya can't win anything but ya can still vote.
Just for fun.

Nothing, Eels, Minnows, Spot, whatever.
I'll let ya know what I come up with.
If nothing yet I plan on doing this with every couple degree change. Yep, I'm bored.

Up here in OCNJ I measured 50 in the back at a dead end street


Curious as to whether or not anyone has an ocean temp for Southern NJ waters... Ocean not bay...

That would have been a nice surprise.

Nothing yet. I'll keep ya posted on what shows in the trap at what temp. Got some nice eels in the fall last year and curious to see if they show up in the spring.

I did not think too look at the temp in my canal, but i saw some 59 degree water in block canyon earlier today. Anybody thinkin blue fin this early ?

well lets just say we have tapon, snook, lookdowns (moonfish), blue crabs and if you fell in you would not freeze..lol .. sorry thats not a good thing to be harrassing the northern people... our offshore water was 72.8 ...but then we live in Florida. I clean a bunch of fish here all the time so we have a good congragation of fish .. kinda wierd but we don't fish much from our own dock... just feed them.
