Is anyone watching The Crumbling of America on the History channel right now? This moron wants to spend how many Billions on new arenas and tracks and whatever else. Yet Chicago's roadways and sewers and bridges are crumbling like the rest of America. Som much infrastructure work needs to be done that would create tens of thousands of jobs all over the country and this Twit is concerned about the Olympics. How is this still going on is there no way to bring this up and shove it in their faces? I swear every time I see her face it makes me want to puke.

Mr. "Harkers Island is the cultural center of the OBX" started this thread bitching because the First Lady was lobbying for Chicago to host the 2016 games over other more deservering U.S. cities in worse financial shape.

When it was pointed out that Chicago was the only U.S. city under consideration, the dumb duck then ridicules Mrs. Obama's work effort because Chicago is in financial shambles.

What am I not understanding here?---- Does Hatterized now support Mrs. Obama since it has been pointed out that Chicago is a Red White and Blue City in dire financial straits needy of a shot in the arm?

if ANY other US city was selected you would not hear a peep out of Mrs Bama......she would be to busy doing what she feels a 1st Lady should do.....plant a garden............BUT Chicago was the US city selected and she has jumped on that bandwagon......and will take No Prisoners (guess she is gonna get her homeys) in leading the US entourage to lobby the Olympic Committee to bring the games to the Bama's home turf.....

My question is why...?

an ulterior motive.... perhaps she feels they have something to gain or profit from the games being in their hood.....

btw.....wonder how much $$$ she raked in while a Health Industry Executive...........yup they made their $$$ so now he wants to overhaul it.....go figure......

I wasn't aware that the First Lady was taking a salary on our taxpayer funded payroll. Regardless---The audacity of a public figure being an advocate for, and trying to help their hometown as a volunteer---- she should be brought up on Federal conflict of interest charges.
I'm sure glad that their is no other history of public figures promoting and helping their hometowns.--- String the ***** up by the yardarm and let's all write a letter to the IOC in support of the 2016 games being held anywhere but the USA. That'll send a good public message.
Now, what are we going to do to make Naughtyduck and the Tunerman happy?---- I got it---- we can start a petition to nominate Greenwich, Ct. to host the 2020 games. So I am a dumb duck because I would rather see billions of dollars spent on real infrastructure projects that are needed to keep the country running and create jobs and make roadways and bridges safer not mention more sanitary as far as sewer leaks, than on building facilities that will be used for a few short weeks and then basically just on display to be used occasionally for other senseless games of entertainment.

So many other issues the attention craving idiot could be focusing on that would actually help her hometown and she picks the Olympics. Hmm I wonder why, oh thats right so she and Orca Winphrey can be the ones remembered for getting us the Olympics in 2016. Well thats definately more glamorous than being the one that fixed the shit pipes. Not to mention making sure their cronies are the ones getting construction contracts or maybe they have property in Chicago that will be purchased at extreme markups for use in the the grand event, Yeah I cant imagine why else they would want to be behind this, its definately completely altruistic.

I could quite frankly give a shit less where the games are played or if there played for that matter, they're just games Glenn. Sorry to disappoint you GW but you'll find that as far as sports are concerned there about at the bottom as far as important things go. Id rather see the money spent to create jobs on real projects not wasted on white elephants. If that makes me a dumb duck than I guess Id rather not be smart like you.

Still confused:
The rubber duck doesn't give a hoot about the Olympic games either way, but feels compelled to ridicule someone's effort to have the Games held here in the U.S.---- Oh, it's the money issue. That is certainly a valid concern--- I wonder what the Federal spending will be if the Games are held in the U.S. relative to the benefits that will be obtained?--- maybe a money loser-- maybe not. As I recall, Americans were most supportive of the Olympic Games being held in Salt Lake City, L.A., and Lake Placid--- perhaps my memory is wrong.
On the other hand I wonder, if the majority of any Federal dollars spent on prior U.S. Olympic games were for transportation infrastructure to accodomadate the traffic? Possibly, any remaining Federal funds (if any) could be made up from the savings realized from reduced military aide to Countries that have refused to foot their own defense costs?

Lord knows, the richest nation in the history of man kind should not squander it's public resources on such nonsense as international peaceful events--- we have shit to blow up in places we have no business being in--- and that costs a helluva lot of money---- where on earth are our priorities?
