"Nothin could be finer than to be in Carolina". Truely God's country, got it all. Come if you will ,but leave it as you found it.
Jupiter is a beautiful area to live in Florida. Great fishing and just a quick puddle jump over to the Bahamas whenever the mood strikes you. Friendlier folks than down in south FL, and homes are plenty affordable.
I'm partial to jupiter because I grew up fishing that area and I'm from florida, but there are alot of snowbirds and NJ-ites transplanted from the great white north. great weather though, and like was previously mentioned, only a hop skip and a jump away from the bahamas
I moved out of Ct. 27 years ago and wont ever go back. South Florida has been an amazing place to live and even better place to fish. Spend a lot of time in the Bahamas as its so convienient and the fishing is great. We do a lot of fishing out here too as the edge is only a few miles off. Swordfishing is 18 miles off. Work is plentifull, and it better be as housing is expensive but worth it. Good luck in whatever you decide.
North Carolina is the place to be. You still get 4 seasons here except this year we skipped spring. Mild winters very little snow but if you want snow you can always visit the mountains. Pretty beaches(no Rocks). It is still inexpensive to live and insurance is cheaper in NC than FL. People are friendlier. Oh and your old hocky team resides in Raleigh. Plus Carolina Girls best in the World
I'll be watching this thread . While I'm not ready to leave the Cape year round The Summers are just too nice. I miss the water and the warm weather in the winter. Been looking at the Sebastian or Stuart Fl area.
If I were to move permanently it would be to the Carolina's
Cape Fear or Moore Head City NC can't beat the southern hospitality and like I said before the BBQ is second to none. Good luck with your move

When I got remarried, this time to a like-minded woman and we decided to get the hell out of the NE USA...I spent about a year researching every internet listing I could find. We were looking for canal or river front...and I don't know how many places we investigated from Savannah all the way to Key West, and then back along the Gulf Coast to Brownsville. Skipped the cities, of course. We ended up looking in the Bahamas....and finally, three years ago, we moved to the Turks and Caicos.
I wish I had moved here twenty years ago. I can't believe I wasted so much of life in New England. I know it's a great place for people who love it....but that wasn't me. I grew up in Texas and I think I would have felt more at home in Mexico than in Massachusetts.
Bottom line, Just Do It!! Life ain't a dress rehearsal.
And while I like the Outer Banks....their idea of barbeque is pork, fer chrissakes. Pork is for bacon. Beef is for barbeque.
