so, in light of the well aimed and deserved rant by BOX about vhf etiquette (or lack of) and the resulting comments on morning prayers and blessing of the fleet - I want to pose a question
I always enjoyed heading out the inlet with "the crowd" and listening to the morning blessing of the fleet. First time I ever heard it was long ago out of Oregon Inlet. Have since heard it there and around Hatteras some as well. Never actually heard it out of Morehead but understand there was a couple of folks who did it many years ago.
Sooooo, any ideas why it stopped in the morehead area?? Is there just no one left interested in doing it?? I have kinda wondered about this for a while but never got around to asking it. Sure would be nice to have someone doing that, just seems to be kind of a neat thing and regardless of your religious beliefs - it could never hurt!
thoughts, suggestions.........?

I can't remember what year but Tred brought him in to do the prayer. I remember him rambling on for a long time and we were all glued to the speaker and didn't want him to stop. Omie ate dinner with us every night because he felt comfortable around us redneck NC boys.
