    Missions Accomplished

I decided this year that I would try and get my oldest daughter the Junior Angler award from the state. Of course she had to agree to want to try and acheive the goal. She agreed. If a Junior angler catches 6 different species of fish then they qualify for the junior angler award. Well today she caught number 6. She has caught a flounder, a rockfish, a spot, a croaker, and a bluefish. I asked her what fish she wanted for the sixth and she said a speckle trout. I said "a speckle are you sure, they are kinda of hard." she says that's your favorite fish to fish for and that's what I want for my sixth fish. I said okay. I had been waiting for todays conditions for a long time. Approaching full moon and the last part of an incoming tide. The plan was to leave the house at 4:15pm and fish speckle trout spot number 4 off poquoson flats.

We weren't there 10 minutes folks and she says fish on! Here's is the result.

I couldn't beleive it. I knew this was the tide and moon phase I wanted but ten minutes! You gotta be kidding me!

Well it measured 16 inches, and was her first one ever! It was a keeper. She also out fished me again as she caught that one's twin about 15 minutes later. All I caught were throwbacks and rockfish. I'm glad she was there because if not there would be no fish dinner tonight. Well I think I rambled enough. I'm just a proud father that wants to brag.
