Ok the plane wreck is behind me... Now for a report of the insanity that is Memorial Day at Bimini...
Started yesterday. Boats inbound... Steady stream. Slips filling at a blistering pace. Each one seemed to be loaded with young girls and mid aged guys. Each blasting music louder than the one next to them... This dead little rock starts to come to life.
My marina was overbooked and I needed to move this morn. A parade of maybe 50 or more Sea Rays headed up channel to Bimini bay all throwing monster wake in the no wake zone. Nothing new. I pulled into Big Game Club and man! They have done an amazing job restoring it. Staff super friendly and facilities razor sharp.
People partying and dancing. Live band ready to kick off in a while. This is the Bimini I remember. I can't help but look over my shoulder at the center consoles and jet skis driving crazy and worry that before the weekend is over that more people will be hurt by "can't happen to me syndrome"...
But for now its the sounds of the the Island living and breathing that has my full attention. The blenderrs are buzzin and I didn't know there were so many Jimmy Buffet songs out there. Goombay punch guzzled by the gallons, conch getting cracked and scantily clad girls getting frisky in and out of the water...![]()

Managed a couple shots but not enough for a show... yet... Let the Kalik flow and the goombays do their thing and see if I can't get some better ones...
