I think SFC memeber Pitch Bait does survey work and he is in Cape May.

Send a PM to or call (609-780-0058) Bob Duckenfield (PITCHBAIT). He did an outstanding job for the two boats that my owner was looking at in NJ. One was a 42 Egg Harbor in Wildwood, and the other was a 48 Ocean (he purchased) in Brielle, NJ

I have also heard good things about Pitchbait.

If for some reason he cannot help you, I cover Cape May as well.

I definitely go to Cape May (and the rest of SJ), matter of fact probably once or twice a week in the spring. In the winter time, the ferry schedule shortens which makes it harder on me. I end up driving up the night before and spending the night at my mom's house. One thing I figured out early on in surveying, you have to be willing to drive, especially during the slow times of of the year.

Bill Gross is an excellent surveyor. A former regional director for the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors.
