Im sure my friend has plans for us, but just curious on what peoples thoughts are on things to do (golf courses, food, bars, and obviously fishing)??? This is my first time to the city and cant wait for Fat Tuesday and all those boobs, I mean beads

I have been a few times but not since the place went under water. We used to stay at the corner of St. Charles and Bourbon St. Check out the French Quarter during the day and stick to the well lit areas at night and you will have a blast. The crowds are unbelievable - the trash in the streets is shin deep in the morning but they have it pretty well cleaned up by the time the hangovers wear off.
Check a couple of parades and definately bring a camera. We have seen things (people) that I had no idea existed on this planet.
The food is killer with lots of choices near the river front - at least there used to be.
The hardest thing to find is a place to whiz after the beer starts flowing - you can't find a head, alley or parking lot anywhere that doesnt have someone sleeping (passed out) in it.
