1.The iilander hula head-Pulled them alot and didnt catch crap on them. They catch fishermen not fish.
2. "waterproof" cameras- never found one that can take prolonged exposure to a marine environment, much less repeated submersion.
3. okumas- saw the side blow right off one of the old ones.
4. force outboards-never had one, but on my friends boat the thing broke on a daily basis. It needed to be forced to operate.
5. anti seasickness wristbands- people always show up wearing these things and spend a half hour telling me what a great invention it is, then spend the next 8 hours puking their guts out.
I would have to say the worst thing ever for outdoorsmen in general was the movie Bambi it set the stage for every treehugging birdloving berkinstock wearing fruit ever to fall off the leftist eco-nazi tree I think if Walt Disney knew what that movie did he would have shot the damn deer himself.

1. Ok, granted...its the people, but most of them either dont know or dont care about fishing or fishermen. Then a guy like today comes along and drives around the boat twice within 20 yards laughing his ass off and flipping us the bird. I'm glad we dont carry guns because I was livid.
2. My opinion, I despise them, they twist line, the drags suck, and they break. That is my experience, and my opinion.
3. My first dealings with a fortress is here in PR. I have 150' of line, 5 feet of chain, and a 15lb fortress. I'm anchoring in 10 to 30' of water and it won't stick. Before you start remember I'm from louisiana and texas where we anchor on 200' snapper and grouper holes so I know how it is done. I think it would take 20' of chain to make that damn thing stick. I works good in rock on the beach. If I'm doing something wrong then tell me.
5. The prospect scares the shit out of me.
Mike
Dang if I know Mike--- they work perfect for me and are much better than a Danforth brand steel anchor. My anchoring is limited to shallow water as I'm lazy (10'-50'). Mostly in an inlet Cobia fishing with the current ripping, or in days past, in the mouth of Chesapeake Bay with alot of current--- always sand bottom. I've had them on a 24 Albe and a 26 Glacier Bay.
I recon the chain was about 4'
