This is a tremendous story of a man and his dog. Strongly recommend viewing. This is a good place to post a picture of you and your pal.

This is Trudy and the Captain. She is a longhaired chihuahua, nine years old, and has been with the boat as long as we have had the boat. Trudy has more friends than I do. I believe the secret to having a lot of friends could be summed up as "cuddle a lot and don't talk too much".
Great story Captain. Thanks for putting it up for us.
This is my oldest 'son' Jake. He is 125 pounds of rotti/shepard/lab/hound/??? mix. He is the bestest buddy I have ever had.
We adopted him from the Humane Society almost 11 years ago after being picked up as a stray. He spent over 20 days in the pound with only one inquiry - The Smithsonian Institute considered him as a guard dog but I guess he wasn't the guard dog type. Needless to say his days were numbered and I think he knew it. The Humane Society estimated his age between 2-8 years old....I wish I could give estimates like that and still stay in business. My vet placed him between 10-14 months - just a puppy!
So at somewhere near 12 years old now he's still pretty spunky and as always gets along great with kids and other dogs. After all these years he is still a bed hog, still greets me at the door with a look on his face that seems to say 'thank you' and is the consummate family friend and protector. Jake ole boy - you may be the best thing that ever happened to us.![]()

Damn Cliff, That guy is about as classey as his dog.
Now, am I the only guy that sees a striking resemblence between Trudy and Jake? You guys aren't trying to just mess with our heads here are ya?![]()
what an amazing story!!! great dog and great owner! thanks for posting!
Men and their dogs love a pickup truck. When I get my hat and pick up the car keys Trudy is at my feet looking up with that "can I go too look." When I say "lets go trudy" she falls all over herself with joy. There was a period in my life when I had no time and little use for a dog. Boy what moments I have missed. A good relationship with your dog is a wonderful thing and I am grateful for time spent with Trudy.
I saw Larry Brooks at Teaches in Hatteras and he consented to a picture with Daisy the older dog and Lucy the pup. They came down from Richmond together to check on the boat. They all seemed to be enjoying the day.
