I was disappointed in the quality of the new Mako's they were not finished out nearly as well as those manufactured prior to 2002. They appear to be chopped fiberglass and had a rough finish inside the storage areas, so rough I cut myself.
The hardware was not all through bolted, hinges and latches were not the quality I had seen in the past.
The Worldcat seemed to better constructed with better material and hardware.
And yes they do ride different, cat vs v-hull. A cat tends to cut the waves not ride over them.
He ended up with a Worldcat, a very stable fishing platform and I believe a more economical boat to run. Don't know it for a fact, but I think the cat is faster than similarly powered v-hulls.
